Cavern to celebrate 50 years since Beatles last Club gig‏

3rd August 1963 – 2013 The Cavern Club to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles last ever show Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th August 2013 The Cavern, the most famous club in the world, will open its doors to the world to celebrate this occasion  with a weekend of Live Music. The Beatles played the legendary Mathew Street venue 292 times between February 1961 and August 1963 before going on to conquer the world. The Cavern originally opened in 1957 as a jazz venue and continues to this day to be a thriving live music venue as well as a major visitor attraction. The weekend will see a celebration of the legacy the fab four left the Cavern. Alongside the club’s regular live music offering, there will be highlighted events on all three Cavern stages showcasing the past, the present and the future of this iconic Liverpool club; Highlights include; FRIDAY 8pm – Cavern Live Lounge Dave Monks from BBC Radio Merseyside presents “The Cavern Today” Featuring some of Liverpool’s very best, new emerging bands and artists; The Hummingbirds, Stephen Langstaff, The Mono L.P’s, The Verdict & Richard Batty 10pm –  Cavern Front “The Rockits” Resident 60’s band celebrate the music of The Beatles, The Stones, The Kinks and many more of the musical greats that graced the Cavern stage General Admission for both stages - £4 after 8pm SATURDAY 4pm & 9pm – Cavern Live Lounge “Saturday with The Beatles” Theatre style Beatles show featuring our resident Beatle band, The Cavern Club Beatles Two shows – 4pm & 9pm / Tickets £15.00 10pm – Cavern Front “The Cave Dwellers” Resident band invite guest musicians and singers from all over the world to join them on the famous Cavern stage for their weekly four hour jam.
